Art Jam happens between 5 & 9 pm on the fourth Friday of every month on the sidewalks & in the stores and restaurants of Madison, beginning June 27.
Musicians: this is unplugged only.
This is an unpaid gig. But we have cleared it with the police department–there’s no ordinance against playing/performing on the street for tips, & they’re just as excited as we are about how great the Art Jam will be!
Art Jam is run by the Madison Main Street Program (contact: Nancy Gruner, 812-701-9500), so you will be accountable to us–this is an open venue, so no profanity, racial slurs, violence, nudity, etc. This is nice, small-town, middle America, so please be appropriate.
The sidewalks are for walking, so we must leave 8′ of clearance.
If you’d like to paint, play, talk, demonstrate, perform, sing, bead, sew or whatever in or in front of a particular store or restaurant, contact the owner. Odds are, they’ll be thrilled, & you can be their featured artist of the month.
Remember, Art Jam is every month, so plan not only for June, but also for July, August, ……….
